Tom never thought in his wildest dreams that he would pursue a career in
photography. He has dabbled in many different ventures and career opportunities throughout his life, but it was
photography that really stimulated his creative side.
After a 32 years career with a major airline, Tom set out to do something that was unique to his creative interest.
He found his calling in photography in 1995. Having a background in Graphic Design made the transition to photography
fairly easy because many of the principles of composition apply to both. Tom set himself up as a Commercial Photographer
in the Phoenix area while still working for the airlines'. The Signature images in his gallery are a culmination
of photographs taken on vacations and long weekends from his full time job.
Photography is what he enjoys doing best! It gives him the freedom to be creative, enjoy the fruits of his labor,
and explore our natural world. A project in progress will take him along US89, from the Mexican Border through
the states of Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana, to the Canadian Border. The project will encompass Photographs
of Lifestyles, Cityscapes, Wildlife and very diverse Landscapes.
Tom currently uses a Canon 35mm A-1 and A2 EOS , Pentax 67 Medium Format, and a Arca Swiss 4X5 Large Format camera
for most of his photography. For his digital work, Tom uses a Athalon 550 system with a Epson 1600 Expression Scanner,
Nikon 990 Coolpix and Canon 10D Digital Cameras, and a Epson 2200 Color Printer. |
